iFly to fly from Sochi to China

Direct flights will be launched between Sochi and the Chinese city of Shenzhen from December 30. As the press service of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone told the TRN portal, the flights will be operated by iFly Airlines.

Flights are organized once a week, with high demand from March 2020 it is expected to increase to four. Visa regime relaxations apply for groups of citizens of both countries. The main initiator of this project was the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone, since one of the priority areas of its development is attracting foreign tourists. The share of guests from other countries in the gambling zone establishments increases every year. The number of guests in 2019 amounted to more than 700,000 people, of which 124,469 were foreigners. This figure is 42% higher than last year (the number of foreign guests was 87,176 people).

"There are more travelers in China than in any other country. China will be a great help for the entire tourist infrastructure of Sochi. These are people who will visit all possible attractions of our resort on organized excursions," comments Dmitry Anfinogenov, director of development of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone. "First of all, they are interested in the entertainment component, and therefore the gambling zone becomes a natural magnet for them. In the next 2 years, this project will work for all areas of business: tourist attractions, development projects, new construction sites and completely new activities. This is a highly successful project."

The first charter flight will be operated by iFly Airlines, for which this is a strategic destination. The aircraft have a capacity of 345 people. Most of the guests from China will spend their vacation in Sochi, but some of them will combine the resort with Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the same time, the costs of the flight are fully covered by the travel company Bcts Travel Service Shenzhen Co., which organizes the tour of Chinese guests to Sochi.
