Tourists who have difficulty buying tickets for transport in Milan will now be able to use the metro without buying a ticket in advance. Milan's ATM company has equipped all 113 underground stations with turnstiles for instant electronic payments. You only need to place a contactless bank card or smartphone against such a turnstile to pay for your ride.
As reported by “Italia po russki”, Milan became the first city in the country to use this technology for paying for transport services, and also the third in Europe after London and Moscow.
It is noted that if you use one method of paying for travel on the metro several times in a row, the system itself will offer the most favorable rate, and tourists will not have to understand the pricing of trips.
