Peskov: Restrictions on flights to Georgia are a temporary measure

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stated that the restrictions imposed by Russia on air traffic with Georgia are temporary and may be lifted.

"From the published documents you saw that there is no clear deadline fixed there. We are talking about about returning the situation in Georgia to a non-Russophobic course. As soon as this is recorded, then it will become a reason to think about revising the decision taken," Dmitry Peskov said, Interfax reports.

He also noted that the situation is tending to worsen. "This is not our business, this is Georgia's internal business. Our business is when it takes on an anti-Russian character. This is what makes us worry," added the press secretary of the Russian President.

Let us recall that on June 21, 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree "On Certain Measures to Ensure National Security of the Russian Federation and Protect Citizens of the Russian Federation from Criminal and Other Illegal Actions", which provided for a ban on flights from the Russian Federation to Georgia for Russian airlines. Later, the restriction was extended to Georgian carriers. In turn, tour operators and travel agencies were recommended to refrain from selling tours to Georgia.
