Iris Garden Opens in Florence

For just one month a year, the Iris Garden (Giardino dell'Iris) is open in Florence – the only botanical garden in Europe dedicated exclusively to irises. It contains dozens of varieties of irises from all over the world, a total of about 15 thousand flowers of various colors, and some varieties come from ancient collections.

As reported by “Italia in Russian”, in the Iris Garden you can stroll between flower carpets, sit near a pond created for growing aquatic irises, and admire Brunelleschi’s dome against the backdrop of the Fiesole hill.

Entrance to the Iris Garden, located near Piazzale Michelangelo, is free. Until May 20, the garden is open every day from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 19:00.
