In 2017, Rovinj broke its own tourist flow record by 11%

In 2017, Rovinj, Croatia, exceeded its own record for tourist flow by 11% in terms of arrivals and overnight stays, the region's tourism board reported.

According to the latest data, during 2017, Rovinj recorded 637,976 arrivals and 3,850,112 overnight stays, which 11% more than the year before. These figures make Rovinj the second place in Croatia in terms of number of overnight stays.

The region's largest market last year was Germany, which supplied the resort with 140,855 tourists, 15% more than in 2016.

In second place is Austria (103,028 tourists, +9%), in third place is Italy (77,257 tourists, +1%). Then come the Netherlands and Slovenia.

The highest tourist flow to the region was recorded in campsites - 224,192 arrivals and 1,814,798 overnight stays, which is 13% and 12% more than in 2016, respectively.

Rovinj hotels hosted 235,785 tourists (1,021,883 nights). These figures increased by 6% and 5% respectively.

139,052 tourists vacationed in the private sector, which is 13% more than in the previous year.

These statistics, the tourism board clarifies, do not include cruise passengers who arrived in the city last year.
