From September 3, the Tourpomoshch Association will provide emergency assistance to organized tourists abroad only after a statement on the termination of the tour operator's activities. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Chairman The government signed a decree amending the "Rules for providing emergency assistance to tourists". According to the document, from September 3, the "Turpomoshch" association will be able to pay for the transportation and accommodation of affected tourists only after the announcement of the termination of the tour operator's activities. Previously, the failure of the tour operator to fulfill its obligations to clients was enough to provide assistance.
At the same time, after September 3, Rostourism will be able to independently exclude tour operators from the register in the event of non-fulfillment of contractual obligations. To do this, the agency will need mass complaints from affected tourists, travel agents, press reports and other information. Exclusion from the register is considered an insurance event, so affected tourists will be able to receive compensation for their failed vacation.
In total, the Rostourism register, as of August 28, contains 4,390 travel companies.
