Liverpool may introduce tourist tax

Liverpool City Council is holding discussions about the possible introduction of a tourist tax.

According to ITV, Liverpool is planning to introduce a tourist tax, the amount of which could be £1 (86 rubles) per night at the hotel.

All funds collected from the tourism tax will be used to finance cultural events, create new jobs, and support education.

By the way, representatives of the city council note that the government is currently conducting discussions on this issue and is also studying the experience of other cities.

Let us recall that Japan has introduced a tax on leaving the country: starting from January 7, tourists leaving the country will have to pay 1 thousand yen (about $9).
