“All inclusive” is a system of organizing meals in hotels that appeared in Turkey in the early 90s. The cost of staying at the hotel, which the client pays in advance, includes meals and all alcoholic drinks, animation, and some sports activities. Now this The system is offered in Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Bulgaria, the Caribbean and some others.
As the press secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) Irina Tyurina recalled, reports that “all inclusive” will be cancelled in mass tourism countries appear regularly.
“The topic of canceling all inclusive comes up with enviable regularity, and at different levels. For example, at the beginning of 2015, the then Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras called for canceling “all inclusive”, citing the threat to small businesses. And hoteliers themselves, including in Turkey, periodically think about the economic feasibility of “feeding” tourists around the clock,” she said.
But the system, according to her, is still alive and developing: ultra all inclusive, super all inclusive and other options have appeared, more and more countries are introducing this service, and it has also appeared at Russian resorts.
"First of all, because it is convenient for tourists: by choosing "all inclusive", they practically close the issue of food on vacation and can calculate their expenses quite accurately. Especially when vacationing with children. In any case, the overwhelming majority of Russians who choose mass beach destinations for vacation buy tours with all inclusive. Therefore, I do not think that it can be cancelled in Turkey," the expert emphasized.
At the same time, according to I. Tyurina, even if “all inclusive” is cancelled, Russians will still go to Turkey and adapt to the new conditions.
Anex Tour also believes that Turkey will not abandon the “all inclusive” system.
“The Turkish hotels that we have in our range for the summer 2018 season continue to offer accommodation with the all-inclusive meal plan. As for possible changes and their impact on the tourism industry, it is unlikely that hoteliers will go for it en masse due to the popularity of the system among tourists,” the company’s press service told the Interfax-Tourism portal.
The head of Rostourism, Oleg Safonov, told journalists on Wednesday that his department would support the development of the all-inclusive system in Russia. “In Russia, we will very seriously develop the all-inclusive system and increase the competitiveness of the Russian Federation in the tourism market, including in relation to Turkey,” he said, answering a question about the abolition of all-inclusive in Turkey.
According to the official, it is too early to say how the cancellation of the system will affect the flow of tourists from Russia to Turkey, since no one is canceling it.
This week, the chairman of the Turkish Traders and Craftsmen Association, Bendewi Palandoken, proposed abolishing the all-inclusive system in Turkish resorts, as it prevents shop owners in resort areas from making money from tourists.
