Three weeks before the start of the school year, the travel search engine KAYAK.ru compiled a list of the 15 most budget-friendly foreign destinations, and also named the cheapest Russian resorts where you can still catch a piece of August warmth.
The study took into account Roundtrip flight queries, hotel searches and clicks on KAYAK.ru made between 01/01/2017 and 08/08/2017 for travel between 08/02/2017 and 08/27/2017. Average flight price is based on roundtrip economy class ticket price per person, and average hotel price is based on nightly rate for double occupancy. Prices are subject to change and may vary.
So, The most affordable foreign destinations in the last days of August were the resorts of Bulgaria. It was Varna (an average of 12,322 rubles) and Burgas (an average of 16,488 rubles) that topped the list of inexpensive destinations in August. Incidentally, the cost of a night in ¾-star hotels in Varna (from 4,753 rubles) and Burgas (3,931 rubles) was also among the leaders of the rating.
However, withthe most affordable in terms of cost of living became Thai Phuket. Here, for a night in a similar hotel, you will have to pay an average of 3,755 rubles.
Interestingly, among the 15 most budget-friendly destinations the absolute leader in terms of the number of destinations in the ranking Spain turned out to be the best. The rating includes four Spanish cities with the lowest flight prices: Alicante (an average of 18,248 rubles), Malaga (19,656 rubles), Barcelona (19,773 rubles) and Palma de Mallorca (an average of 24,467 rubles).
Greece came in second in terms of affordability — three Greek cities made it into the rating: Thessaloniki (17,602 rubles), Rhodes (20,771 rubles) and Heraklion (21,944 rubles).
For those who are not planning to leave the country and want to support the domestic tourism industry, there is also good news: you can relax at Russian seaside resorts at the end of August quite inexpensively. So, for a ticket to Sochi you will have to pay from 11,207 rubles — less than for the most budget-friendly foreign destination. A ticket to Anapa will cost a little more — an average of 13,583 rubles. And for a flight to another resort in the Krasnodar region — Gelendzhik — a Russian tourist will pay from 15,138 rubles. At the same time, among the three named Russian resorts, it is in Gelendzhik that the cheapest hotels are. For a night in a ¾-star hotel in a double room, you will pay an average of 3,227 rubles in August.

This year, summer was stingy with warmth and sunny days, so it is necessary to enjoy it for the last time and go to the sea before the start of the school year."
