Russia and Belarus have signed an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition of visas. Once it comes into force, it will allow foreigners to use a Russian or Belarusian visa to travel to either country or both at once, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.
This will make travel much easier for tourists who intend to visit both countries or pass through one of them on their way to the other. In addition, they will be able to use the most convenient of the two consulates to obtain a visa. The requirements for obtaining visas will not be unified for now.
The date of entry into force of the agreement is not yet known. It must be ratified by the parliaments of the two countries.
