The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned tourists about temporary restrictions on movement through checkpoints on sections of the Russian border with China.
“PRC - from January 31, traffic through checkpoints in certain areas will be temporarily restricted the state border of Russia with China; until March 1, 2020, passenger rail service is limited: trains will only operate on the Moscow-Beijing-Moscow route,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Situation and Crisis Center (DSCC) reported on Twitter.
In addition, the agency noted that the World Health Organization has recognized the coronavirus as an international emergency.
“China - by decision of the WHO, the outbreak of the disease caused by the 2019-nCoV coronavirus has been recognized as an international emergency,” the statement said.
Let us recall that earlier the ministry announced the suspension of the issuance of electronic visas for entry into the Russian Federation for tourists from China.
In addition, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, JSC Federal Passenger Company, explained to passengers the procedure for returning unused tickets for trains to China on the Moscow-Beijing-Moscow route.
