Aeroflot to fly to Phuket more often

Aeroflot Airlines intends to increase the number of flights from Moscow to the Thai resort island of Phuket by 1.5 times. Instead of the current 7 times a week, the carrier will fly to Phuket 10 times during the winter high season, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.

Unlike the current daily flight, which departs from Moscow at night and from Phuket in the middle of the day, the new flight, scheduled only on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, will have a morning departure from Moscow and a nighttime departure from Thailand. Like the first flight in the winter schedule, it will be served by Aeroflot’s most capacious aircraft, the Boeing 777.

From October 28 to March 29, this flight departs Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) at 6:15, arriving in Phuket at 19:15. Return departure at 21:00, arriving in Moscow at 3:10. The existing daily flight departs Moscow at 21:10, arrives in Phuket at 10:20, departs back at 12:10 and arrives in Moscow at 18:15.

The new flight, among other things, may be convenient for connections with Aeroflot's European routes. It is worth keeping in mind that the increase in flight frequency applies only to the winter period, when demand for flights to Thailand is highest. In the summer schedule for next year, which comes into effect on March 31, as before, only one flight is planned (with departure from Moscow at 18.50, and from Phuket at 10.45, on a less capacious Airbus A330).

Let us recall that Aeroflot has also planned to increase the flight frequency by one and a half times in the winter schedule on another Thai route – to the country’s capital Bangkok. The company has already opened ticket sales for the third daily flight, also scheduled from October 28 to March 30. As in the case of Phuket, this is a flight with a morning departure from Moscow and a night flight from Bangkok.
