Tour operators: demand for Turkey has returned to pre-crisis levels

From January to August of this year, Turkey was visited by more than 4 million tourists from Russia, which is 26.5% higher than the figures for the same period in 2017. Tour operators also say that this season has been more than successful - the growth in demand for the destination for some players has reached 60%.

As reported by local media, citing data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 4.187 million of our compatriots vacationed at the republic's resorts in the first 8 months of this year - this is a quarter more than in 2017. As a result, Russians took first place in terms of number of foreign tourists who visited Turkey. Second place went to Germany, the tourist flow from which for the specified period was at the level of 3 million people. In third place with an indicator of 1.6 million is Great Britain. In turn, the most significant growth was demonstrated by tourists from China - plus 86%.

As the correspondent of "Travel Russian News" was informed by the press service of the tour operator ANEX Tour, it is already possible to say that the Turkish destination has returned to pre-crisis indicators. "Since the beginning of the year, ANEX Tour's sales to Turkey have increased by 40%. However, it is worth noting that our activities in this direction in 2018 were more aimed not at increasing volumes and capacities, but at the image and improving the quality of the product," the company explained, emphasizing that a lot of work was done this year to open new resorts and expand the product line. And here, as an example of key innovations, we can cite the launch of the first stage of the ANEX Priority concept, focused on the premium segment, as well as package tours with a business class flight on the wings of AZUR air to Antalya from Moscow and comfort class flights on Nordstar flights to Antalya, Dalaman and Izmir.

Biblio-Globus also confirmed that Turkey showed very good dynamics. "The demand for tours to the Turkish destination in the summer season exceeded the figures for the same period last year by 64%. A very significant increase in the depth of sales was felt at the beginning of the season. In March, the depth of tour sales had already reached September 2018, and the demand at the early booking stage exceeded the figures for the same period in 2017 by 100%," the tour operator's press service said.

By the way, this winter Biblio-Globus will extend its own flight program from Moscow, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg to the Antalya coast: flights will be carried out by the tour operator’s strategic partner, Rossiya Airlines, twice a week.
