A new tourist route, the Honduran Coffee Route, has been launched in Honduras and will appeal to coffee lovers, Lonely Planet reports.
Honduras has presented an excellent offer for tourists who cannot imagine their life without the aromatic drink. The coffee tour takes place in six regions of the country where the world's best coffee is grown. According to Emily Silvestri, director of the Institute of Tourism, the new route will allow visitors to the country to learn how to harvest coffee beans and turn them into an invigorating drink.
Tourists will be able to visit coffee farms and participate in a variety of activities that vary from region to region. The route includes tastings, learning about roasting and brewing methods, collecting seeds, and non-drink related activities such as hiking or bird watching. In particular, travelers will visit the Oplaka region, known for its special coffee with hints of tropical fruits mixed with grapes and berries. The program also includes a visit to one of the research centers of the coffee drink. In the Copan region, foreigners will get acquainted with two of the most famous farms, San Rafael and Fica Santa Alena. This region is famous for coffee with a sweet shade of chocolate and caramel. Copan will also offer a look at the country from the point of view of archeology and architecture, because it is here that the stone temples and altars of the Mayans are located. In addition, Copan is home to the Macaw Mountain Park, home to more than 300 birds.
The route also includes the region of Montecillos, home to the most famous trading company COMSA. Here, travelers will climb to an altitude of 1,600 meters to visit the mountainous regions of Honduras, Comayagua, El Paraiso and Agaita.
The cost of the Honduran Coffee Route tour has not yet been announced. You can get to Honduras from Moscow by plane only with transfers. For example, via the USA, Spain, Panama or Cuba. Russian tourists do not need a visa to enter the country if the period of stay in the country does not exceed 90 days.
