Saudi Arabia to simplify visa issuance for Red Sea guests

The Saudi Arabian authorities will simplify the visa regime for tourists planning to vacation in the new Red Sea resort area, Arabian Business reports.

The Red Sea project is the creation of the world's largest tourist area on 50 islands along the west coast of Saudi Arabia. Arabia. Saudi Arabia has been implementing large-scale projects in recent years to develop the tourism sector and increase the number of foreign tourists. Local authorities are trying to create new travel destinations, in addition to visiting religious sites in Mecca and Medina.

The international tourism project Red Sea is being developed in partnership with leading global hotel chains. The resort area will be located along the western coast of Saudi Arabia, between the cities of Al Waj and Amlaj, 500 km north of Jeddah. It will occupy 34,000 square kilometers and will serve as a year-round tourist center, providing visitors with a variety of unique entertainment. The authorities hope that the Red Sea will be able to top the list of the best ecotourism destinations and get into the top 10 beach resorts in the world.

Let us recall that Saudi Arabia simplified the issuance of tourist visas for Russians from April 1, 2018. To obtain a visa, you must provide a valid passport, an application form, confirmation of hotel reservations and plane tickets. In addition, you must pay a consular fee for a visa in the amount of 56 US dollars (3,500 rubles) and visa center services in the amount of 2,000 rubles. A visa to Saudi Arabia is valid for 20 days.
