Oman e-Visas become a permanent scheme

Oman has announced that it has completed testing electronic visas to the country for Russian citizens and is making this scheme permanent. You can get a visa on the Omani police website at evisa.rop.gov.om, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.

The process takes from a few hours to a few days, so it is worth doing the visa at least a week before the planned trip. The visa is valid for a month from the date of issue. To apply, you need to register on the website, then in the Apply for Visa section, enter your details and upload documents. Among other things, you need a roundtrip ticket, hotel reservation, a scan of your passport (which must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of travel) and a photo. Uploaded files must be no more than 512 kilobytes.

A single entry visa for 10 days costs 5 Omani rials ($13), for 30 days – 20 Omani rials ($52). A multiple entry visa for a year costs 50 Omani rials ($130). The visa received by email should be printed out and presented at passport control.

The tourist flow to Oman from Russia increased by 120% in 2018 – to 20 thousand people, and continues to grow. The growth was achieved due to the simplification of the visa regime for Russian citizens – now a visa can be obtained both upon arrival and in advance online – as well as the opening of daily Oman Air flights to Moscow last fall. In March, the Omani Ministry of Tourism launched a Russian-language version of the country's tourism website. It is located at experienceoman.om/ru.
