Mexico. Guadalajara – Tequila

Guadalajara – Tequila

Guadalajara is the cultural capital of Mexico and the second most populous city in the country.
It is known as the "Pearl of the West" and the "City of Roses".

Guadalajara is easily described by three photographs:

The last photo shows the legendary Beetle parked. Mexico has a huge number of Beetles and pickups; it seems like the entire country drives these two cars.

And if the abundance of pickups is explained by the agrarian nature of the country, then the popularity of the beetles is due to the Volkswagen plant in the city of Puebla, which produced them in huge quantities until 2003.

In addition, here and there in Mexico you can see American muscle cars – the proximity to the USA has an effect.

They are all old and beat up (although I once saw a brand new '70 Chevrolet Chevelle), but looking at these cars makes your soul happy. Not like today's soulless crap.

Guadalajara is interesting for its proximity to blue agave fields and tequila production.

Tequila is not only the pride of Mexico, but also a significant source of income for the country. Real tequila can only be produced in Mexico and only in certain regions (just like cognac or champagne in France).

Agave is planted here even in the city, just for beauty:
